Celebrity Bankrupts - Kim Basinger

 The Hollywood star was sued for pulling out of movie - forcing her to declare herself bankrupt When she reneged on her verbal agreement to star in Boxing Helena (1993) in 1993, the producers sued her for breach of contract and a jury ordered her to pay over $8.1 million, which ultimately forced Basinger to declare bankruptcy.

Sherilyn Fenn, best known for twin peaks took the part.

The film was a huge flop and cited at the time as being well worth $8million to Kim Basinger to be free from it.

Her career recovered to a peak of winning an Oscar for 1997’s LA Confidential.

A contribution to here downfall was splashing out $20,000,000 to buy an entire town, Braselton Georgia. At the time of the law suit, she was force to sell here stake for $1,000,000  -  a loss of 19million dollars.
