According to Hindu teaching there are 4 legitimate goals.
- Purusharthas - pursuit of money
- Karma - pursuit of pleasure
- Dharma - pursuit of piety
- Moksha - Liberation from the cycle of life and death
A Hindu’s pursuit of wealth (Artha) allows for the both the necessities (Food, shelter, etc)and of comforts to improve the quality of life, while allowing for the wholehearted pursuit of the 3 other goals.
