10 signs of the behaviour of someone who not just has debts, but has the tendencies of a compulsive debtor. People who are unorganized and chaotic in life, often let this spill over into handling of their personal finances.

  1. Being unclear about finances.
    People with debts are often unaware of basic details of their financial affairs.
    Do you know your account balances, monthly expenses, loan interest rates and other financial obligations?
    If you have a mortgage, do you know the interest rate and amount outstanding on the loan? 
  2. Prefer buying on credit.
    Do you get more of a buzz when buying on credit than when paying by cash?This is often the feeling of being in a club, of accepance, of being grown-up.
  3. Frequently and unnecessary borrowing of anything and everything.
    Are you always borrowing CD’s, pens, etc, or small amounts of money without returning them?
  4. Bad or no saving habits.

    Are you taking jobs below your abilities to raise extra money?
  10. Low self-esteem.
    Have you an unwillingness to care for and value yourself?
    Are you living in self-imposed deprivation?
    Are you denying your own basic needs in order to pay your creditors?
    Generally speaking, low self esteem results in bad personal decisions. For a debtor with low self esteem due to their debts, this inevitably means more poor financial decisions.
